ENI Standup Test (2.1)

Purpose: To ensure that services are up & running (things are working and further testing can be pursued).

The Standup test will accomplish the following:

Netscape Set-up (this will not be relevant if using JavaServer)

  1. Choose Start-Programs- Netscape Navigator
  2. Choose Edit-Preferences
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Click Cache
  5. Clear Memory cache and clear the Disk cache
  6. Click Mail & Groups
  7. Click Identity – ensure that the e-mail address matches a registered user

    Example Email address: [email protected]

    Example Reply-to address: [email protected] (this must be a REAL e-mail address)

  8. Click Mail Server – ensure that outgoing and incoming are the same and set to tdlmh01.faxinter.com (this should be the Node Server name)
  9. Click OK

Check Locations of Packages

  1. Telnet to <DMZ machine>
  2. Type "pkginfo -l <package>" and press [ENTER]

    This will list the locations and other information for packages, confirming that they are present

Start Insight

  1. Type "<machine name>" (this should be the web server (DMZ) name) in the Location field (URL)
  2. Select docs
  3. Select English
  4. Click UNIFI Insight

Test Security

  1. Login as System Admin Cust # <sysadmin customer number>, Username: <sysadmin>, password: <sysadmin password>
  2. Click OK

    Logging in tests that security is up & working

Test Registration

  1. Click Registration

    This will verify registration connectivity to the database if the user's profile come up. If there is a problem, check the registration log file for details: /opt/unifi/eni/log/Reg*.log

Register the Customer

  1. Choose Tools-Customer Search
  2. Type <Customer Number> in the Customer Number field.  Use a new customer number each time you try the stand up test; this will allow you to ensure that the Registering a Customer process is working correctly
  3. Click Find
  4. Click Select
  5. Click Product tab
  6. Set up the customer profile
    1. Connection type: Internet
    2. Authorization: Domain Level
    3. Cover Page: Basic
    4. Messaging Address Type: SMTP
    5. Name: domain name & type name again to confirm (example domain name: cr78467.com)
  7. Choose File-Save or click the disk icon on the toolbar
  8. Click Yes
  9. Click OK

Register a User

  1. Choose Tools-Add User
  2. Fill in the appropriate fields on the 1st screen and click Next

    On 1st 'Add User' screen, External Email is the only required field (remember to use the same domain name you entered when registering the customer (above), for example, [email protected]).

  3. On the second Add User screen, type a Username in the field (example: rgutcho)
  4. Leave the Password radio button set to Default (no need to enter a manual password)
  5. Click Add Now
  6. Click Finish

Check Status is running

  1. From Insight, select Status (ensure that the search screen appears)
  2. Perform search for 'Report covering last' 1hour
  3. Click Find Now (Usually, no documents will match the search criteria)

Perform Full Replication of X.500 tree

  1. Logon to <master X.500 directory> as root
  2. Start xmhconfig (/opt/mailhub/sbin/xmhconfig)
  3. Choose Configure-X.500-Configure X.500
  4. Click Shadowing tab

    The Replication agreement will appear

  5. Click Next until you get to the Node Server (tdlmh01 in TDL, Replication Agreement=999998001 where 999 is the supplier ID and 998 is the consumer and 001 is the replicator ID)
  6. Click Full Update Now
  7. Select Full Update
  8. Click Next

    The next Node Server (Replication Agreement=999998002) will appear.

  9. Click Full Update Now
  10. Choose Full Update
  11. Click Next

    The next Node Server (Replication Agreement=999998003) will appear.

  12. Click Full Update Now
  13. Choose Full Update
  14. Choose File-Close-Cancel
  15. Choose File-Exit (to exit xmhconfig)
  16. To verify the replication worked, run xmhconfig on the Node Server
  17. Navigate to the …ou=users@o=cr78467 branch of the X.500 directory tree

    The following must appear:

    If these entries do not appear, replication failed.

Log in to Insight as the new user

On first login, you will be forced to change the password:

  1. Type <old password> and press [TAB] (Default password=username, for example, rgutcho)
  2. Type <new password> and press [TAB]
  3. Retype <new password> in the confirm new password field and press [ENTER]
  4. Perform Search again as above in "Check Status is running" above
  5. If there are any problems with status, check the logs in /opt/unifi/eni/log

    Status (in order of appearance)

    Conversion to Fax Complete (proves that it passed through CPR successfully)

Single Mail Test

  1. From Netscape, ensure that the settings are correct for Mail & Groups as above
  2. Choose Communicator-Messenger Mailbox
  3. Choose New Message
  4. In 'To' field, type "richg#[email protected]"
  5. In the Subject field, type "Standup Test #x"
  6. Type some text in the text field
  7. Click Send
  8. Verify via xmhadm that the queues are enabled

Datatran test - 200 documents at once

This test will also send multiple e-mails within a short period of time.

  1. Chose Start-Programs-Windows NT Explorer
  2. Change directory to S:\projects\projdir\testsys\swat\
  3. Double-click mail.txt
  4. Modify the domain to the correct External Email Address for the customer number (that you are currently testing, for example, [email protected])
  5. Choose File-Save
  6. Choose File-Exit
  7. Choose Start-Programs-Command Prompt
  8. Type "s:"
  9. Type "cd \projects\projdir\testsys\swat"
  10. Type "datamail mail infile=mail.txt gateway=tdlmh01.faxinter.com repeat=200" (defaults to delay of 95 seconds)
  11. Check the status of the documents in Real Time Status (verify that final status is Analyzing-Voice or Analyzing–Busy)
  12. Do grep on E:, C:, or F: for errors to ensure that things go smoothly (from opt/unifi/eni/log)
